Become a Rahab Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer with Rahab! There are a number of ways to get involved…

Night Outreach Volunteers:

Team Members - as a part of a team, helping to make initial contact to support and empower on-street sex workers during Night Outreach sessions

Day time voluntary positions:

Office Assistant - supporting the Rahab staff & volunteer team to ensure the smooth running of the project

Fundraising Assistant - helping to organise fundraising events for Rahab

Internships:

Rahab offer fixed term placements for those wanting to gain experience in supporting those affected by exploitation (an element of this would be going out on Night Outreach).

Here are a few comments from those who have taken part in a internship with Rahab:

"Being a part of The Mustard Tree Foundation as their Rahab Project intern in the summer of 2014 was an incredible experience. I was warmly welcomed by an amazingly dedicated, friendly, caring and intelligent group of people who allowed me the freedom to grow with the guidance of their collective experience. The clients with whom I worked at Rahab specifically were such lovely individuals who were always friendly and willing to speak about their experiences. Though at first I wasn't sure what to expect from my internship, I can honestly say it made me a better person and that it opened my eyes to the struggles that many women and men face. I am delighted that The Mustard Tree Foundation is part of the Reading community - it's definitely a better place for it."

"I worked at the Rahab Project as a placement student and I can say that this little organisation is incredible! Working alongside the team was a huge privilege and to meet all the women that they worked with was a massive eye-opener. I loved every second of it and was made to feel welcome by all the team. The Rahab Project is doing amazing and BIG things out there in Reading...and I encourage you to become a part of it!"
